Gallons Of Gas Spilled On U.S. 41 Following Fuel Tanker Crash
Troopers are investigating a crash involving an overturned fuel tanker on U.S. 41 at Madison Avenue in Clair-Mel Sunday at 12:10 p.m.
CLAIR-MEL, FL — Troopers are investigating a crash involving an overturned fuel tanker on U.S. 41 at Madison Avenue in Clair-Mel Sunday at 12:10 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the tanker truck was traveling south on U.S. 41 and failed to negotiate a left turn onto Madison Avenue. The driver lost control of the tanker, which overturned onto the shoulder of the highway.
The driver was uninjured in the crash, but a large amount of gasoline was spilled along the highway and shoulder. The intersection at U.S. 41 is expected to remain closed for an extended period. Drivers should avoid the area and seek alternate travel routes, said the highway patrol.
