TAMPA BAY, FL – A new and free interactive "beach" experience, called "The Beach Tampa by Snarkitecture," opens next month at Amalie Arena, bringing a beach to downtown Tampa!
Hosted by the Vinik Family Foundation and created by Snarkitecture, The Beach Tampa is a 15,000-square- foot environment where visitors can "go for a swim" in an "ocean" of 1.2 million recyclable and antimicrobial white balls, or stroll along a "pier," or relax in beach huts and beach chairs complete with umbrellas.
Open to the public at no cost, The Beach Tampa opens Aug. 5 and runs through Aug. 25 at the arena at 401 Channelside Dr. in Tampa.

The white balls comprising the "ocean" are protected with GermBLOCK, a safe, powerful agent that provides antimicrobial protection for guests against 50 different germs and bacteria for the life of the balls, according to organizers.
"After visiting The Beach DC last summer, I was inspired to share Snarkitecture's vision with Tampa Bay," Penny Vinik said. "The Beach Tampa transforms the familiar beach experience into a truly unique, visually stimulating and tactile activity. It's just pure fun."
