Tampa, FL - As the 50th anniversary of Earth Day is celebrated April 22, the Goddard School of Tampa, Temple Terrace and Westchase is offering a a fun, eco-friendly guide to celebrate Mother Earth at home with family.

  • Recycled Runway Fashion Show: Gather old clothing, cardboard, bubble wrap, etc. and make a recycled outfit! Put on a fashion show and have little ones strut the runway in their on-trend ensemble. Bonus points: turn on Zoom or Facetime to share with loved ones.
  • Braided Rugs: Use old clothes cut into strips to make beautiful rugs for the home
  • Lights Out!: The Goddard School needs YOUR help! An annual tradition eight years strong, on Earth Day (4/22), Goddard School’s across the nation honor Mother Earth with a “Lights Out!" event, in which all nonessential lighting is turned off for one hour during the day. This is a super easy activity to replicate at home that makes for a wonderful teaching moment, as well as an excellent excuse for a glowstick dance party!
