Gusty Conditions Prompt Tampa Bay Advisories

Find out what's in store for the Tampa Bay area weather this week.

While Tampa Bay area landlubbers are likely to enjoy sunny days and mild temperatures, folks who frequent local waters may find themselves running into choppy conditions this week.

According to the National Weather Service, the forecast calls for a mostly dry week, plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the low to mid-80s. Wind gusts, however, are expected to be fairly strong as the week kicks off, prompting forecasters to warn that small craft advisory conditions are anticipated for a few days. “Higher winds and seas will create hazardous boating conditions for small craft operators,” the service warned in its Monday Hazardous Weather Outlook report.

Monday kicks things off with a high in the low 80s and a low down around 65 degrees in much of the region. Wind gusts are expected to be as high as 24 mph though, so it could shape up to be a rather breezy day. Tuesday brings slightly warmer temperatures with a chance for wind gusts around 18 mph.
