Health Advisory Issued for Davis Islands Beaches

Advisories have been lifted for several other local beaches.

The Hillsborough County Health Department has issued an advisory for one local beach while lifting its warning for several others.

The current advisory pertains to Davis Islands beaches.

Water sampling in the area resulted in a higher level of enterococci bacteria than recommended by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the health department reported.

“This should be considered a potential risk to the bathing public,” an email to media from the agency stated.

The samples were taken on Monday and “all beaches will be resampled” March 2, the agency noted.
