TAMPA, FL -- It took Hillsborough County firefighters an hour and a half to control a blaze that broke out at Trademark Metals Recycling on Port Sutton Road Sunday.
At 9:50 a.m., Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews responded to a call at the recycling facility. When crews arrived, they reported an approximately 25-foot-high pile of metal on fire in the metal yard of the facility.
Command quickly upgraded the fire to two alarms, and set up an initial fire attack.

An hour and a half later, they brought the blaze under control using an elevated attack of both foam and water. The facility's claw was eventually used to dismantle the metal pile to get to the inner hot spots.
Complicating the attack was near-zero visibility at some points due to haze from the smoldering fire and rainy weather.
