TAMPA, FL — According to newly released statewide mathematics assessment results, Hillsborough County Public Schools students outperformed students across the state in mathematics and sustained scores in English language arts.

Despite pandemic-related disruptions and other stressors that contributed to learning loss in all grades, and with a strong focus on accelerated learning this academic year, Hillsborough County Public Schools students attained scores in mathematics higher than their peers across the state while also closing the achievement gap by 2 percentage points in both math and ELA assessments.

“We celebrate not only our students who persevered through the most difficult educational environment in recent history but also our teachers, support staff, school-based leaders, administrators and families who inspired our learners toward a path to success. This is a victory for our entire community, proving that if we stand together to lift our children up, we will achieve outstanding outcomes together,” said Superintendent Addison Davis.
