Hillsborough Unveils New 'Homeland Security Vessel'
The 40-foot vessel was purchased using a grant.
TAMPA, FL – Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies have a new vessel to help them catch bad guys on the high seas of Tampa Bay.
The agency was presented with a new 40-foot Intrepid homeland security vessel on Tuesday. The boat was purchased using a CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiation, Nuclear, Explosive) Port Security
Grant through the Port Tampa Bay, the agency reported in an email to media.
Partners and vendors involved in bringing the “most advanced law enforcement” vessel to Hillsborough County included Port Tampa Bay, Intrepid Power Boats, Quality T Top, Summit Marine, USF School of Engineering, Sea Star, and Flir, the email stated.
