Historic Don Vicente Inn Closing?

Indications are the building will cease operations in May.

The historic Don Vicente de Ybor Historic Inn may soon close its doors.

The Tampa Bay Business Journal is reporting the boutique hotel, which has been under new ownership since July 2014, will cease operations around May 20. The 1915 Avenida Republica de Cuba property has served as a 16-room hotel since the 1990s. The 120-year-old building once served as a health clinic then fell into disrepair before it was rehabbed to become a boutique destination.

It is unclear what plans Darryl Shaw, the property’s new owner, has for the Don Vicente.
