Homicide At Gas Station In Tampa Leads To Arrest of 24-Year-Old Man
Tampa police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a homicide on Aug. 24 at a gas station in Tampa.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a homicide on Aug. 24 at a gas station in Tampa.
At 11:53 p.m. Aug. 24, officers were called to the Shell Gas Station at 2924 N 50th St., when the ShotSpotter gunshot detection device indicated gunfire.
Once there, police found a 26-year-old man in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died at the hospital.

The investigation led police to Derick P. Bowden, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Police said Bowden knew the victim.
On Oct. 2, a tip from Crime Stoppers led police to Bowden's location in Hillsborough County. He was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm.

Bowden has 10 felony convictions.
