TAMPA, FL — More and more Floridian pockets, purses and pocketbooks are starting to chirp, chime and buzz as cell sites get back up and running.

The Federal Communications Commission on Friday updated its breakdown of cellphone outages by county in a status report on communications services.

Overall, the FCC said 8.5 percent of cell sites in Florida were out of service Friday, down from 13.4 percent Thursday and 18.1 percent a day earlier. Georgia and Alabama were completely restored Friday. Hillsborough County

  • 27 cell sites were out, or 2.4 percent (down from 4.7 percent).

Polk County

  • 37 cell sites were out, or 7.7 percent(down from 17.5 percent).

Pinellas County

  • 40 cell sites were out, or 6.7 percent (down from 11.7 percent).

Pasco County

  • 23 cell sites were out, or 7.2 percent (down from 9.7 percent)

Manatee County

  • 6 cell sites were out, or 2.5 percent (down from 4.2 percent)

Sarasota County

  • 21 cell sites were out, or 8.6 percent (down from 12.7 percent)
