Hyde Park Village Hosts Fresh Market
The farmer's market has become a popular monthly attraction at the revitalized Hyde Park Village.
Despite the heat, the Fresh Market at Hyde Park Village teemed with vendors and visitors – both human and canine – on Sunday, August 7. The rain clouds stayed away on this day, but the crowds did not.
The farmer’s market – set up around the fountain centerpiece of Hyde Park Village – was all about the locally grown fruits and vegetables. In fact, most of the produce sold out by day’s end.
The monthly market also featured food from area eateries, cooking demos, crafts and clothing from local merchants, and various sundry items like cigars, natural cleaning products, fine art photography and handmade soaps. There were even live chickens and baby chicks - for at-home raising – for sale. The kids loved ‘em!
