TAMPA, FL — In an effort to reduce speeding on Tampa's most dangerous roads, the Tampa Police Department will be out in force, pulling over speedsters starting Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The campaign will kick off with early-morning traffic enforcement along these corridors:
- Fowler Avenue from Florida Avenue to Bruce B. Downs Boulevard
- Busch Boulevard from Armenia Avenue to Nebraska Avenue
- West Hillsborough Avenue from Hoover Boulevard to Himes Avenue
The program, conducted in partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation and the University of South Florida's Center for Urban Transportation Research, will focus on the three roads with the largest number of injuries and fatalities in accidents involving pedestrians and bicyclists.
