The award is in honor of Jack Cox’s late father John, who was a leading pioneer and proponent of economic development. Cox recognized the connection between thriving non-profit and civic organizations and the local economy.

“Giving back to the community is a legacy that was instilled in me by my father at a very early age,” said Cox. “It wasn’t something that he just thought about from time to time - it was a commitment that he dedicated himself to throughout his life and his career. It’s something that we take very seriously at Halfacre Construction. We are proud to present this award to Goodwill Manasota, an organization forming collaborative initiatives that are setting an example for other organizations in our community, our nation and the world. They are putting people to work, helping our nation’s servicemen and women, and doing important work to support this region’s economy,” he said.
