Jail Inmate Dies After Being Transferred To Hospital
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation of an inmate who died Monday.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation of an inmate who died Monday.
On July 28, Kai Summers, 42, was booked into the Orient Road Jail.
Days later, on Aug. 2, Summers' health declined,d she was taken to Tampa General Hospital for evaluation. She had previously been diagnosed with a host of medical issues. At 2:57 p.m. on Aug. 3, Summers was pronounced dead.

The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office took custody of the body. Next of kin has been notified.
