Tampa Fire Rescue Called To Shed Fire At Blake High School

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Fire Marshal's Office has arrested a juvenile for setting fire to a maintenance shed on the campus of Blake High School, 1701 North Boulevard, Tampa, at 8:45 p.m. on May 16.

The youth confessed to burning down the 10- by 20-foot shed and has been charged with two counts of second-degree arson and one count of burglary.

According to the investigator's incident report on the shed fire, the estimated damage is about $11,000.

On May 16, a 911 caller saw flames coming from a structure on the east side of the school campus. When crews arrived on the scene, they found the maintenance shed fully involved.

Fire crews laid more than 500 feet of line to reach the shed located near the football field, away from the main area of the school, and were able to successfully extinguish the blaze by 9:20 p.m.

There was no threat to the main building of the school.
