Little Greek South Tampa To Host April 26 Fundraiser

Part of effort to raise funds for Tanzania Soccer Field

From Little Greek Grill: Little Greek Fresh Grill, a fast-casual Greek restaurant with an American influence, will have a fundraiser at its South Tampa location on Friday, April 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in support of an effort to build a Tanzania soccer field.

Tampa resident Jordan Peloubet was born in the African village of Tanzania, where his biological mother died of malaria. It was there where the four-year-old met Drew and Susan Peloubet, a Tampa couple who were visiting Tanzania on a church mission. While they already had grown children, four years ago the Peloubets decided to adopt Jordan He is now a sophomore at Tampa Prep.

The Little Greek fundraiser is part of an overall fundraising initiative for Jordan to give something back to the village he left. With the help of former Tampa Bay Rowdies player Farrukh Quraishi, he is trying to raise $115,000 to build the soccer field. Quraishi is on the board of lovefutbol.org, a non-profit that raises money to build soccer facilities in places of need worldwide.

“Little Greek guests will deposit their food receipt into a jar at the front counter,” says Nick Vojnovic, Little Greek Fresh Grill president. The restaurant and I will each donate 20% of sales April 26 to Jordan’s charity.”
