Man Found Dead In Hillsborough River ID'd

TAMPA, FL – Authorities today identified a deceased man found Tuesday floating in the Hillsborough River as Tampa resident Elijah Freeman, 59.

The case is under investigation, however, the Tampa Police Department said there are no signs of foul play.

A friend of Freeman's said they last spoke Monday. His body was discovered Tuesday at approximately 5:17 p.m. in the river near the West Columbus Drive bridge, and was recovered by the department's dive team near the North Boulevard bridge, police said.

Freeman resided on the 800 block of 7th Avenue East.
