Man Seriously Injured In Truck Crash On Howard Frankland Bridge

TAMPA, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident Tuesday morning on the Howard Frankland Bridge that left one person with serious injuries.

At 3:21 a.m., an Autopros tow truck driven by a 62-year-old Lutz man was traveling north on Interstate 75 near the 36 milepost on the Howard Frankland Bridge.

A Middlesex Construction vehicle was parked along the outside shoulder of the 36 milepost ahead of a construction lane closure sign.

The tow truck driver lost control and collided with the rear of the construction vehicle.

The driver of the construction vehicle, a 49-year-old man from Palm Harbor, was taken to the hospital in serious condition. A 25-year-old passenger from Lake Panasoffkee received minor injuries.

The tow truck driver received minor injuries.
