Update: Most Tampa Roads Now Open

Flood waters have started to recede.

Update: The city of Tampa announced late Monday evening that most roads within its boundaries had reopened to traffic.

As of 4 p.m., these are the road closings reported by the city of Tampa on its Facebook page:

  • 21st Av from 39th to 50th St flooded
  • 22nd/Linebaugh flooded
  • 30th St S of Fowler flooded
  • 47th St from Shadowlawn to Giddens flooded
  • 50th St and Acline Dr under water
  • 50th St/Adamo Dr flooded - HART on detour
  • 50th St at Broadway is flooded
  • Armenia Av and Herman St is flooded
  • Armenia Av N of Busch Bl is flooded
  • Bayshore Bl and Platt St is partially flooded
  • Bougainvillea and 30th St is flooded
  • Columbus EB 19th St flooded
  • Columbus Dr between 40th St and 50th St is mostly covered by water
  • Crosstown WB over Willow N/sde shoulder erosion reported/putting barricades up will fix tomorrow
  • Cypress St and Boulevard flooded
  • Dale Mabry Bl and Henderson St is flooded N of open 1239, S of still flooded
  • Davis Island access from Hyde Park only, cannot access from Bayshore due to flooding
  • Florida Av and Knollwood is nearly covered by water – use caution
  • Habana btwn St Isabel & Virginia large pot hole
  • Hanna Av and 26th St is covered by water
  • Hillsborough/Dale Mabry SB Ramp flooded
  • Hillsborough & Himes flooded/clear 1440
  • Himes Av at Tampa Bay Bl is flooded
  • Jones Av and Skagway Av closed due to water
  • KENNEDY all clear from downtown to Dale Mabry
  • Kennedy Bl and Meridian Av flooded/open 1450
  • Kennedy Bl from North B St to Cypress St is flooded/ open 1450
  • Kennedy/Himes flooded/ open 1450
  • Kennedy/MacDill flooded/ open 1450
  • LAKE AV around Avon/Central/Jefferson clear
  • Lake Av and Avon Av covered by water
  • Lake Av and Central Av has water up to the sidewalk – use caution or alternate route
  • Lake Av and Jefferson St completely underwater
  • Lake Av between 48th St and the 4600 blk is flooded (will likely stay flooded throughout the day)
  • Linebaugh Av at 9th St is flooded
  • Linebaugh Av east of Nebraska flooded
  • Manhattan Av and Bay to Bay Bl not passable
  • Macdill from Kennedy to Swann flooded all lanes (incl Cleveland, Platt, Azeele, Horatio…)
  • MLK Bl at Tampania Av is flooded on the south side of MLK
  • Nebraska and Fern flooded/clear 1509
  • Nebraska north of Broad is down to one lane
  • Neptune St and Dale Mabry Hw flooded
  • Osborne Avenue up to Florida is surrounded by water and down to 1 lane
  • Roads around Robles Park Apartments (Lake Av, Virginia Av, Kentucky Av) dealing with high water
  • Rome Av and Cleveland St under water
  • Sligh Av at 12th St is flooded - HART on detour
  • Swann Av from Macdill to Armenia flooded
  • Waters Av and Jones Av is underwater
  • West Shore Bl between Laurel St and Cypress St is flooded
  • Woodlawn Av between Poplar Av and Mytrle Av is mostly underwater

Motorists are urged to use caution on local roads as a flood watch remains in effect for the county until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
