March For Our Lives Gun Legislation Marches Planned Saturday

March for Our Lives​ is leading more than 450 gun-safety marches in at least 45 states on Saturday, including several in Tampa Bay.

TAMPA BAY, FL — March for Our Lives is leading more than 450 gun-safety marches in at least 45 states on Saturday, including several in Tampa Bay.

The youth-led group, started by former Parkland High School student David Hogg and others after the Parkland school shooting, is reviving the marches first held in 2018 to support tougher gun-control legislation.

Those attending are urged to wear blue.

Locally, marches are scheduled for:

  • 9 a.m. to noon at North Straub Park, 344 Bayshore Drive NE, in St. Petersburg.
  • 9 to 10 a.m. at 601 Starkey Road in Largo
  • noon to 4 p.m. at the George E. Edgecomb Courthouse, 800 E. Twiggs St. in downtown Tampa.
  • 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Hart's Landing, 920 Ringling Causeway in Sarasota.
