Northbound Lanes Of Nebraska Avenue To Close For Construction
Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, the FDOT will close both northbound lanes on Nebraska Avenue just south Hillsborough Avenue.
TAMPA, FL — Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, the Florida Department of Transportation will close both northbound lanes on Nebraska Avenue just south of Hillsborough Avenue (U.S. 92) in Tampa.
This closure is necessary for crews to install new drainage pipes under Nebraska Avenue between Giddens Avenue and Hillsborough Avenue. This section of roadway is expected to reopen in approximately 30 days, weather permitting.
During this closure, motorists will be detoured around the work zone using Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Florida Avenue and Hillsborough Avenue.

Access to homes and businesses will be maintained during this closure. Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will be used to assist motorists traveling through the detour route.
Motorists should anticipate heavier-than-normal traffic on all nearby roads.

This work is part of the $9.3 million repaving project of Hillsborough Avenue between Central Avenue and North 56th Street. Other improvements include drainage and traffic signal upgrades at Nebraska Avenue and 34th Street North.
This project began in August and is expected to finish in late 2020.
