Pedestrian Struck And Critically Injured By Driver In Tampa Crosswalk: Report

TAMPA, Fla. — A driver was cited after striking a pedestrian who remained in critical condition following a crash Saturday morning in Tampa, ABC Tampa Bay 28 reported.
The crash happened shortly after 7 a.m. at West Arch Street and North Boulevard, according to police. Officers arrived to find a critically injured man, who was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Police said a woman driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla was turning left from eastbound West Arch Street onto northbound North Boulevard when she struck the man as he tried to cross the northbound lanes.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, ABC Tampa Bay 28 reported. She was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian, according to the outlet.

Police said speed and impairment were not believed to be factors in the crash.
