
The Tampa Police Department is reporting a standoff that developed in the overnight hours in the Temple Terrace area is over.
The incident began to unfold early Friday morning when Plant City Police asked the Tampa department to assist with an auto theft and shooting in their jurisdiction, an email to media from Tampa police stated. Tampa police officers saturated the area where the suspect was believed to be and located the stolen vehicle. A pursuit was initiated that ended at 109th Avenue East and 15th Street.
There a suspect bailed from the car and took off on foot, the email stated.

Air support was able to track Herbert Stubbins, 27, of Tampa and bring him into custody, the email stated. Officers then learned, however, that the man wanted in Plant City was barricaded inside an apartment at 4606 Citrus Circle in Tampa, near Busch Gardens.
The cityâs Tactical Response Team and hostage negotiators were able to talk the man, who was hiding in the attic, out of the apartment peacefully, the email stated. News of the standoffâs end was delivered by Tampa Police just after 9 a.m. Friday.

Antwan Gordon, 20, of Plant City was brought into custody when the standoff ended.
Charges against Gordon and Stubbins, who are cousins, are pending.
