Primary 2020: Who's On The Ballot In Pinellas County?

Pinellas County voters will head to the polls Tuesday to choose partisan candidates as well as school board members.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Pinellas County voters will head to the polls Tuesday to choose partisan candidates to face off in the general election Nov. 3 as well as nonpartisan Pinellas County School Board races.

For those who haven't already voted by mail or voted early, the primary polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

These candidates are on the ballot for the primary:

  • Republican candidates for Florida's 13th Congressional District George Buck, Sheila Griffin, Anna Paulina, Luna Amanda Makki, Sharon Barry Newby. The winner will face Democratic incumbent Charlie Crist on Nov. 3. The district includes south Pinellas County.
  • Republican candidates for Florida's 14th Congressional District Paul Sidney Elliott and Christine Y. Quinn. The winner will face Democratic incumbent Kathy Castor on Nov. 3. The district includes parts of Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.
  • Democratic candidates for Florida House District 70 Keisha Ann Bell, Michelle Grimsley, Mark Oliver and Michelle K. Rayner.
  • Democratic candidates for Pinellas County sheriff James McLynas and Eliseo Santana. The winner will face incumbent Bob Gualtieri in the general election.
  • Republican candidates for tax collector incumbent Charles W. Thomas and Joyell Hope Bobola. The winner will face Democrat Joseph Saportas in the general elections.
  • Democratic candidates for Pinellas County Commission District 7 Rene Flowers, Wengay "Newt" Newton and Frank Peterman Jr.
  • District 1 Pinellas County School Board at-large candidates Laura Hine, Stephanie G. Meyer and Tom Topping.
  • District 4 Pinellas County School Board single-member district candidates Chris Hardman and incumbent Eileen M. Long.
  • District 7 Pinellas County School Board single-member district candidates Caprice Johnson Edmond, Corey Givens Jr., Sharon D. Jackson and Karl Nurse.
