Puppy Rescued from Trash Can by Police
The mother dog was trying to rescue her pup when police spotted her.
Tampa Police Officers Randy Whitney and Bob Barrett thought something was wrong as they watched a scruffy little dog paw at a trash can Monday.
Turns out they were right. When the two went to investigate just what it was the dog wanted in the can they discovered a newborn puppy inside. The two pulled the baby from the can as a few more officers arrived on the scene in the 2200 block of 10th Street North.
According to department spokeswoman Andrea Davis, officers found three more puppies under a nearby shed.
