A Purrfect Rescue: Firefighters Free Kitten From Car's Engine

TAMPA, FL — There's something heart-wrenching about the cry of a kitten. So it was for a Tampa resident who heard the plaintive cry of a kitten and searched the area, eventually finding the little ball of fluff stuck in the engine compartment of the resident's car.

Apparently, the kitten climbed into the engine seeking warmth from the cold night and couldn't figure out how to get back out.

With no means of reaching the kitten, the resident called Tampa Fire Rescue for help.

Engine 15B arrived on the scene and, in short order, freed the kitten from the engine of the parked car and reunited it with its anxious mother waiting nearby.

It was a purrfect rescue.
