Reclaimed Water Main Break Closes Cypress Street Lanes

Restoration work is anticipated to be complete by Monday.

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Water Department is asking motorists to steer clear of eastbound Cypress Street between Lois Avenue and Dale Mabry Highway as it completes repairs on a broken reclaimed water main.

The repair work is expected to be finished by Thursday evening, but restoration work won’t be complete until around 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 1, the agency wrote in an email to media.

As work is completed, all eastbound lanes on Cypress Street have been closed between Lois and Dale Mabry. Signs and barricades have been put in place.

“Please use caution when driving in the area,” the water department’s email urged. “Modifications to lane closures may be necessary during the course of repair and restoration.”
