Repair Work To Begin On Gandy Bridge Sunday

TAMPA, FL -- Starting Sunday, Sept. 30, the Florida Department of Transportation's contractor, Bridge Masters Construction, will begin making bridge repairs to the concrete deck and railings along the eastbound lanes of the Gandy Bridge over Old Tampa Bay.

Construction activities will occur during daytime and nighttime hours. Nightly lane closures are planned for Sunday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 5 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the work zone and allow for extra travel time as delays are likely.

This $1.1 million project is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2019.
