Sheriff's Office Seeks Witnesses To Fatal Shooting Sunday

TAMPA, FL — Hillsborough County Sheriff's detectives are seeking witnesses to a fatal shooting Sunday at a Tampa apartment complex.

The sheriff's office received a call around 2:30 p.m. about a shooting at the Coopers Pond Apartments on Fountain Mist Drive. They found a person who had been shot in one of the apartments. The person later died at St. Joseph's Hospital.

“Our deputies are looking for any witnesses who may have heard or seen something about what led to this shooting,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “While our deputies continue their investigation, it is believed that the suspect and victim knew each other, and there is no threat to the public at this time.”
