Shooter Arrested After Firing Gun Into Air During Fight In Ybor City

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department has arrested a man and recovered a firearm that was shot into the air during a fight behind 7th +Grove, 1930 E. 7th Ave., Sunday night.

During the fight, a man pulled out a handgun and shot four rounds into the air.

While on the scene, officers saw a vehicle fleeing the area, driving recklessly and running a red light.

Police attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle sped away and then the driver abandoned the vehicle a couple of blocks away. He fled on food and was apprehended by police and arrested.

A firearm was found in the vehicle.

No one was injured.
