Strong Storm Warning Issued For Tampa Bay Wednesday Evening

Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of northwestern Pinellas, Hillsborough and Pasco counties.

TAMPA, FL — Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of southeastern Pasco, Pinellas and northern Hillsborough counties through 9 p.m.

At 8 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Hillsborough River State Park to East Lake-Orient Park to MacDill Air Force Base. Movement was west at 15 mph.

The storms could produce gusts of up to 40 mph.

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include Tampa, Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Plant City, Temple Terrace, Seminole, Zephyrhills, Lutz, Brandon, St. Petersburg, Palm Harbor, South Highpoint, Hillsborough River State Park, Zephyrhills South, Palm River-Clair Mel, Tampa International Airport, East Lake-Orient Park, Zephyrhills West and Land O Lakes.
