Strong Thunderstorms Moving Through Hillsborough County: NWS

At 6 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over East Lake-Orient Park, or near Temple Terrace, moving southwest at 10 mph.

TAMPA BAY, FL — The National Weather Service Tampa Bay has issued a special weather statement notifying residents of a strong thunderstorm that is impacting north-central Hillsborough County.

At 6 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over East Lake-Orient Park, or near Temple Terrace, moving southwest at 10 mph, with winds in excess of 40 mph and half-inch hail.

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Tampa, Temple Terrace, Brandon, Palm River-Clair Mel, East Lake-Orient Park, Riverview, Pebble Creek, University, Busch Gardens, South Tampa, University Of Tampa, Mango, Peter O Knight Airport, New Tampa, Tampa Executive Airport, Lettuce Lake Park, Orient Park, Ybor City, Soho and Seffner.
