TAMPA, FL — A multiple DUI offender is again being investigated for driving under the influence during a wrong-way crash Sunday night in Tampa, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Linton Robertson, 73, caused a head-on collision near Columbus Drive and Regional Water Lane around 9:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office said.
He drove his vehicle the wrong way down the eastbound lands, hitting another vehicle head-on. Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.

During a previous DUI arrest, Robertson had a blood alcohol comment of more than .2. In Florida, an unlawful BAC is .08 or above.
"There is no excuse for driving under the influence and putting others' lives at risk," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "The consequences of impaired driving can be life-altering, and we will not tolerate anyone who threatens the safety of our residents."
