Tampa Art Museum To Host Virtual Evening Of Giving Back
The Tampa Museum of Art is continuing its 100th anniversary celebration with a virtual evening of giving on Nov. 7.

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Museum of Art is continuing its 100th anniversary celebration with a virtual evening of giving on Nov. 7.
The Centennial Celebration: Cheers for 100 Years, presented by PNC Bank, marks 100 years since a passionate community of art enthusiasts came together present the first of hundreds of exhibitions that became the Tampa Museum of Art.
“The community’s support has been essential to the museum’s success year after year," said Michael Tomor, the Penny and Jeff Vinik executive director of the Tampa Museum of Art. "In 2020, the museum needs the community’s help more than ever to ensure this legacy continues to enrich our community for generations to come.”

Supporters of the Centennial Celebration: Cheers for 100 Years virtual evening of giving will
enjoy a night of virtual entertainment with live performances, stories, interviews and reflections on a century of accomplishments. Throughout the evening, supporters will participate in chance drawings and a live auction.
All proceeds will go to support the exhibitions and art education programs offered at the Tampa Museum of Art.

These include special outreach programs that provide art therapy interventions and self-expression to vulnerable segments of the population such as children and teens in foster care, children in domestic violence shelters, children living in migrant communities as well as adults living with dementia, HIV/AIDs and substance abuse disorders.
Founded in 1920, the Tampa Museum of Art houses one of the largest Greek and Roman antiquities collections in the southeastern United States. The museum’s permanent collection also includes sculpture, photography, painting and new media.
Upcoming events include Fashion + Art + Culture, featuring designer Bibhu Mohapatra, Jan. 9 and Pride & Passion 2020 April 17.
Located at 120 W. Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa, the museum is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the museum remaining open until 8 p.m. Thursdays.
