Tampa Bay Area Celebrates Race Amity Day June 14

Race Amity Day, a national day to appreciate diversity and unity, will be celebrated locally in the Tampa Bay area on Sunday, June 14, from 2:30 to 6 p.m. at the Clearwater Baha'i Center.

Race Amity Day is a nationwide movement of communities celebrating and proclaiming Race Amity Day, with the intention of celebrating our diversity, learning about one another’s cultures and history, and forming cross cultural/racial/ethnic relationships.

This free, fun-filled day will include: live performances by a Haitian dance group; drummers; local vocalist Deneen Wyman; saxophonist Matthew Weihmuller; a Persian setar performance, and a presentation about Native American Sacred Lands. Children’s activities and storytelling will complete the entertainment. Emcees will include Nadeen Yanes, anchor/reporter at Tampa Bay 28, and Danny White, founder of Race Without Ism.

Additionally, a complimentary dinner will be served.
