Tampa Bay Area Workweek Weather: Finally Fall?

Find out what's in store for the Tampa Bay area in the weather department as the week progresses.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents tired of heat, rain and humidity may find themselves celebrating as the workweek gets under way. That nip in the air Monday morning is something forecasters say is likely to stick around for a few days at least.

Monday kicks off the week with sunny conditions and an anticipated high only in the low 80s in the Tampa Bay area. According to the National Weather Service, rain isn’t a big possibility, but a comfortable breeze with winds between 5 and 13 mph is likely.

Partly cloudy conditions are anticipated in the nighttime hours Monday. The evening low is expected to dip down into the mid-60s.

Rain chances are low throughout the week, but slight chances for showers do creep into the picture as the week progresses. Forecasters do not anticipate any hazardous weather in the week ahead, but the weather service warns flooding on the Myakka River at Myakka State Park is likely to continue through Tuesday. The river is expected to recede below flood stage on Wednesday.
