Tampa Bay Brewing Company Celebrates Inaugural Gourds Fest Inspired by its Popular Fall Brew, Gourds Gone Wild

Bash includes eight pumpkin-themed beers, food, music, family-friendly games and gourds

TAMPA, Fla. – September 12, 2016 – Tampa Bay Brewing Company (TBBC) is hosting its first ever Gourds Fest, an event to celebrate the release of its Gourds Gone Wild, the Bay Area’s favorite fall ale and inspiration behind the nontraditional pumpkin fest. The event combines the best of gourd-infused craft beers fit for the season, a bountiful harvest of food and beer pairings, live music from two local bands, a pie eating contest and games, bounce houses and festival treats for kids. Gourds Fest takes place from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday, September 17, at the TBBC Westchase brewpub located at 13937 Monroes Business Park, Tampa. Admission is free.

“We’re so excited to host our first ever Gourds Fest, and we’re proud to serve so many seasonal craft beers that people look forward to and enjoy this time of year,” says David Doble, owner of TBBC. A total of eight pumpkin-inspired beers will be served. The featured ale, Gourds Gone Wild, is available in bottles for $10. While the adults enjoy their brews, kids can savor their fall favorites at a treats station that includes candy apples and cotton candy. “We wanted to create a festival environment that the entire family can enjoy together so there will be plenty of activities for all ages,” Doble added.

Pumpkin pie eating contests begin at 3 p.m. with local celebrities up first; brewers trade in their taps for forks during their competition at 4 p.m.; the contest opens up to the general public at 5 p.m. The grand prize winner walks away with five cases of TBBC beer and other winners will take home an assortment of brews and other prizes. Live music begins at 6 p.m. with sets by two local bands.

TBBC will also offer seasonal cocktails, beverages and food pairings with its other popular beers, such as Florida’s True Blonde Ale, Old Elephant Foot IPA and Reef Donkey APA. Tickets for beer and food will be sold at the festival.

One of the largest breweries in the state, TBBC recently claimed the 2016 Best Brewpub and Best Beer in Florida runner-up awards at the annual Best Florida Beer Championships.
