Tampa Bay Workweek Weather: Storms Likely
Storm chances are high throughout the workweek in the Tampa Bay area along with temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents may want to keep umbrellas in tow as the workweek progresses. Afternoon thunderstorms are in the cards most days, along with rather steamy temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service, Monday kicks things off with mostly sunny conditions in the morning and early afternoon hours and a high around 90 degrees. Storm chances move into the picture after 3 p.m. with a 20 percent chance forecast.

Overnight Monday, those storm chances rise to about 30 percent, but things should clear out as the evening progresses. Forecasters anticipate a low around 73 degrees in much of the Bay area.
Tuesday should deliver a high in the upper 80s with storm chances climbing to about 60 percent in the afternoon and evening hours. The low is expected to fall again to about 73 degrees.

Wednesday brings more of the same with afternoon storms anticipated. The day’s high is expected to reach the upper 80s with an overnight low around 74 degrees.
Afternoon storm chances stick around Thursday and Friday both. The high temperature both days should climb to the mid- to upper 80s with lows in the low 70s.
While forecasters do not anticipate any widespread severe weather, storms that develop each afternoon do bring the potential for “gusty winds, small hail and frequent lightning strikes,” the agency warned in its Hazardous Weather Outlook report Monday.
The pattern of highs in the upper 80s and afternoon storms is expected to stick around through the weekend at least.
