TAMPA BAY, FL — Afternoon thunderstorms and a heat index of 105 degrees didn't stop most Tampa Bay residents from celebrating America's 241st birthday as seen in this photo gallery.

Unfortunately, a stubborn thunderstorm over the Zephyrhills/Dade City area forced the cancellation of the El Cuatrofest celebration in Dade City. But other Tampa Bay celebrations were only halted by rain for an hour or two.
