Tampa Fire Rescue Battles Blazes In Seminole, Ybor Heights

TAMPA, FL — A commercial building in Seminole Heights and a home in Ybor Heights sustained extensive damage after fires broke out in the structures. Fortunately, no one was injured in either fire.
Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 7400 block of North Florida Avenue at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday.
Engine 7, the first to arrive, found light smoke emanating from the single-story structure. After searching the building and finding no one inside, firefighters began fighting the fire, getting it under control within 15 minutes.

The fire investigator concluded the cause was an electrical malfunction.
Twelve hours earlier, firefighters responded to a house fire in the 2000 block of East 17th Avenue at 2:25 a.m.

Engine 4 was first on scene and found the single story home engulfed in smoke and flames. After searching and finding no occupants, firefighters began fighting the fire, getting it under control within 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Firefighters also battle a fire at a home in Ybor Heights.
