Elderly Man Stomped To Death By Tampa Man: Police
A 39-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after being accused of stomping an elderly man to death.

TAMPA, FL — A 39-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after being accused of stomping an elderly man to death, police said.
Tampa police said officers were called to the 7-Eleven at 4943 E Busch Blvd. at 1:20 a.m. June 24 for a report of a man being stomped by another man. The victim, who was in his 70s, was left unconscious in the parking lot.
Officers found the victim suffered significant upper-body trauma. The police report said officers administered CPR until Tampa Fire Rescue arrived and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Surveillance footage and witness interviews led detectives to Taron Lamar Criner. Police said Criner was spotted walking near the road off East Busch Boulevard about 7:08 a.m., still wearing blood-spattered clothing.
He was arrested and taken to the Orient Road Jail, where he remains on $500,000 bail.
