Tampa Police Discover It's Way More Fun To Give Than Receive

Tampa police officers, with help from youth in the community, shopped for gifts to give out during Sunday's Santa's Workshop.

TAMPA, FL — They may have been wearing black uniforms and badges, but as far as the kids attending Santa's Workshop at the District 3 Tampa police station were concerned, the officers could have been wearing red suits and white beards.

Dozens of kids attended Santa's Workshop at 3808 N. 22nd St. Sunday to choose Christmas gifts purchased at Target by officers with some help from youngsters and teens in the community. After all, who knows better what kids want than other kids?

The shopping trip also gave officers a chance to hang out with and get to know the youth in their patrol districts.
