Tampa Police Reserves Officer Accused Of DUI
A Tampa Police Reserves office has been charged with driving under the influence after being involved in a rear-end collision in Brandon.

TAMPA, FL — A Tampa Police Reserves office has been charged with driving under the influence after being involved in a rear-end collision in Brandon Wednesday.
According to the Tampa police, at 1:04 p.m. 55-year-old Timothy Kent is accused of striking the rear of a car with his Hyundai SUV at the intersection of Causeway Boulevard and Providence Lakes Boulevard.
Although there were no injuries, while Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies were investigating the accident, they suspected that Kent was impaired and tested his blood alcohol level.

Two tests came back at .234 and .240 percent blood alcohol levels. In Florida, a person is legally drunk if t blood alcohol level is 0.08 percent.
The Tampa police suspended Kent from working as a reserves officer. Kent joined the reserves in 2005.
