Tampa Ranked 6th 'Snobbiest' City by Travel Magazine Readers

When it comes to pretentious places to visit, Tampa ranks among the worst of the worst.

That’s according to readers of Travel + Leisure magazine who have ranked Tampa as the 6th snobbiest city in the entire country. Tampa was outranked on the list by New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Boston.

When it comes to Tampa’s snobby rankings, Travel + Leisure pointed out the city’s SoHo district in its explanation.

“The upscale Southside delivers good people-watching and dolphin-watching along Bayshore Boulevard. It’s also where you’ll find the Epicurean Hotel, which has a wine shop and a cheeky dessert shop called Chocolate Pi, and faces local institution Bern’s Steak House.”

On a positive note, survey takers did point out Tampa’s cleanliness.

The only other Florida city to make the grade was Orlando, ranked at No. 20.
