Tampa Water System Upgrades Begin Monday, Continue Through Nov. 2

The Tampa Water Department will begin the next phase of its water distribution upgrade project from Monday, Sept. 14 to Nov. 2.

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Water Department will begin the next phase of its water distribution upgrade project from Monday, Sept. 14 to Nov. 2. The valve assessment, repair and replacement project which will temporarily affect traffic patterns along the following streets:

  • Along West Tampa Bay Boulevard, starting at North Lois Avenue and moving east toward North MacDill Avenue
  • Along West Martin Luther King Boulevard, starting at North Cortez Avenue and moving east toward North Habana Avenue
  • Along North Himes Avenue, starting at West Tampa Bay Boulevard and moving north toward West Hillsborough Avenue

Detours and road closures will continue to be clearly marked with signs and barricades to assist with traffic flows while this work is being performed. Work schedules are contingent upon weather conditions.
