TAMPA, FL — Ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, the marine life at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa received a surprise visitor.

As a part of its animal care, The Florida Aquarium regularly provides enrichment to its animal ambassadors. Pelicans, whistling ducks and wading birds have all had their own adventures exploring the aquarium pathway and getting a close-up look at the marine critters in the aquariums.

On Tuesday, that honor went to an aquarium team member's pet turkey. The red bourbon turkey strutted through the aquarium, preening for aquarium residents and visitors alike, grateful that he's not on anyone's Thanksgiving Day dinner menu.
