Students in the George W. Jenkins Family Town and Country Club after-school program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay recently took home new bikes donated by UnitedHealthcare. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with onbikes of Tampa, conducted a bicycle safety demonstration for students prior to the donation.
Fifty bicycles and helmets were donated to elementary and middle-school students as part of a public service campaign by UnitedHealthcare to encourage kids and teens to wear helmets. Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies helped with fitting the bicycles and helmets and teaching the students safe-riding skills.
