Vanguard Varsity Volleyball moves on with win over Forest

Vanguard High School Varsity Girls Volleyball team advanced in the state playoffs with a 3-1 hard fought victory over Forest at VHS on Tuesday 10-30 with scores of 25-21, 25-14, 23-25 and 25-18.

VHS Head Coach Randy Ewers stated among the keys to the win were the players staying aggressive with a focus on serving. Grace Letterly, setter, understood the match-ups and played a key role in getting the right person the ball at the right time. Essence Bell, libero, played solid defense. Alexa Schmidt, outside hitter, and Re'na Ashley, right side hitter did a great job of attacking.

Class of 2019 VHS Seniors Grace Letterly, Essence Bell and Jamie Stephens continued to show strong leadership with their experience in tough matches.

The VHS Knights Varsity Girls Volleyball team plays their next playoff game at home on Tuesday November 6 at 7 pm.
