Weekend Weather: What to Expect

Find out what's in store for the Tampa Bay area.

Tampa Bay area residents hoping for a little fun in the sun over the weekend might get it, but they’ll want to plan strategically.

According to the National Weather Service, there’s a strong chance for storms each day this weekend. The good news, however, is those storms are expected to creep in during the afternoon hours, mainly after 2 p.m.

Here’s what the weather service says residents can expect heading into the weekend:

Friday

  • High temperature – About 90 in much of the Bay
  • Low temperature – Mid-70s
  • Rain chances – About 40 percent in the afternoon and 30 percent in the evening hours.

Saturday

  • High temperature – About 90
  • Low temperature – Mid-70s
  • Rain chances – About 60 percent in the afternoon hours and 60 percent overnight.

Sunday

  • High temperature – About 90
  • Low temperature – Upper 70s
  • Rain chances – About 70 percent in the daytime hours and 60 percent overnight.

Monday is expected to bring the potential for more rain and a high in the upper 80s.
